Erectile Dysfunction ED Or Impotence: Erectile dysfunction, the inability of
the male partner to achieve and maintain an erection. This means even though
a man has a strong desire to perform sexual act with a cooperative partner,
he cannot perform sexual act because of looseness (absence of erection)
of his penis. Even if he performs the sexual act with his determined
efforts he does not get the erection and gets afflicted with tiredness,
perspiration and frustration to perform sex or intercourse.ED (erectile
dysfunction) may sometimes be even termed as Impotence. The likelihood of
developing ED (erectile dysfunction or impotence) increases with age. It
is estimated that 1 in 10 men over the age of 21 suffer from impotence of ED
(erectile dysfunction); most men suffer in silence. In America today, it is
estimated that 25 to 30 million men suffer from erectile dysfunction, also
known as impotence or ED.
Why and How Erectile Dysfunction happen?
Erection of penis is a sequential event and any disruption in this sequence can cause erectile dysfunction (ED). The sequence includes nerve impulse in brain, spinal column, area around penis and response in muscles, fibrous tissues, veins and arteries in and around corpora cavernosa. Damage to nerves, arteries, smooth muscles, fibrous tissues often as a result of disease is the most common cause of erectile dysfunction (ED).
Most cases (70 to 80%) have some underlying pathology behind erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence. In older men, ED usually has a physical cause. Incidence increases with age. Erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence does not have to be a part of getting older. It is true that as you get older, you may need more stimulation (such as stroking or touching) to get an erection. You might also need more time between erections. But older men should still be able to get an erection and enjoy sex.
Physical Causes Of Erectile Dysfunction (ED):
Psychological Causes (Feelings):
How Is Erectile Dysfunction ED Diagnosed:
You will be asked some questions and a physical examination may be done. Sample of your blood and urine may be tested for diseases and disorders. Other tests may also be needed. After full medical history and physical examination the doctor will determine which tests are right for you.
Premature Ejaculation (PE):
Premature ejaculation (PE) is the most common sexual problem among men. It is not very difficult to identify: It usually means that a man reaches the orgasm too soon. According to me if you and your partner think you’re finished too early, and then you’re a premature ejaculator. Men who suffer from premature ejaculation start dreading sex and eventually it may even affect their overall confidence level.
We want to live longer; same is with sex because here also we want to last longer. Ejaculation occurs when a man reaches sexual climax that is orgasm and semen is ejected from his penis. Most men experience premature ejaculation at one time or another. The question is what is the normal time taken to ejaculate after penetration. You would be surprised that most men ejaculate within two to six minutes after beginning the intercourse and this according to me is normal. But about 18 to 25 percent of men have trouble delaying ejaculation that long; some ejaculating even before penetrating a woman’s vagina to their embarrassment.Premature ejaculation can also be defined as an ejaculation that occurs before the man wishes it to occur or when ejaculation occurs too quickly to sexually satisfy his partner.
The primary symptom of premature ejaculation is the inability to delay ejaculation for more than one minute after penetration. However, the problem may occur in all sexual situations, even during masturbation.Premature ejaculation can be classified as lifelong (primary) or acquired (secondary). Lifelong premature ejaculation occurs all or nearly all of the time beginning with your first sexual encounters. Acquired premature ejaculation has the same symptoms but develops after you’ve had previous sexual experiences without ejaculatory problems. Many men feel that they have symptoms of premature ejaculation, but the symptoms do not meet the diagnostic criteria for premature ejaculation. Instead these may have natural variable premature ejaculation, which is characterized by periods of rapid ejaculation as well as periods of normal ejaculation.
The exact cause of premature ejaculation isn’t known. While it was once thought to be only psychological, doctors now know premature ejaculation is more complicated and involves a complex interaction of psychological and biological factors.
Some doctors believe that early sexual experiences may establish a pattern that can be difficult to change later in life, such as:
Other factors that can play a role in causing premature ejaculation include:
A number of biological factors may contribute to premature ejaculation, including:

Penis Enlargement Device:
The negative vacuum method of penis enlargement is commonly known as the penis pump. This is a cylinder that is fitted over the penis work by drawing out the air surrounding the penis and then increasing the blood flow to the penis. It stretches the penis muscles and tissues which help in increasing the length and girth of the penis. As vacuum increases, the difference between the inner blood pressure and the pump pressure increases as well. This helps in making the erection harder and stronger. The effectiveness of penis pumps for permanent penis enlargement has been examined by our medical experts. Studies show that men with a penis length less than approximately 5 inches (10 cm) found significant change in penile length after using pumps for six months.

Shockwave Therapy For Erectile Dysfunction:
Shockwave therapy is the latest treatment modality introduced by Imranz Clinic for patients suffering from erectile dysfunction and it is one of the few treatments options that improves natural erections and can potentially rejuvenate the erection mechanism. In addition, shockwave therapy has the following advantages:
Shockwave therapy will in most cases improve the outcomes of any other treatment modality.
How does it work?
Shock Wave Therapy works by passing shock waves, an intense but short energy wave that travels faster than the speed of sounds into the tissues. Today Shockwave therapy is widely used to treat all kinds of indications from soft tissue injuries (tendinopathies) in humans and horses to diabetic foot ulcers to erectile dysfunction and even cellulite. Shockwave treatment initiates a proflamatory response in the tissue where the shockwaves have been applied. The body responds by increasing the blood circulation and metabolism in the impact area which in turn accelerates the body’s own healing processes.
In the specific case of Erectile Dysfunction, shockwave improves erections via two mechanisms:
What should I expect during my treatment session?
Each treatment session lasts around 20 minutes. The medical practitioner will apply the treatment using a special probe on different parts of your penis and perineum. Most patients experience very little discomfort or pain during the session. It is important that if you do not feel comfortable you let your medical practitioner know and the shockwave intensity will be adjusted accordingly.
Are the results permanent?
The biological effects of shockwave therapy are permanent and have been established on a basic science level. However, erectile dysfunction depends on the lifestyle of patients and is usually a symptom of underlying health issues which lead to ED. Because ED usually gets worse in patients with comorbidities, this means that the improvements after the treatment might be reversed over time if the underlying conditions are not addressed.
Is the Shockwave Therapy treatment itself painful?
Sometimes the treatment is a bit painful, but most people can stand these few intense minutes without medication. If patients are in pain during the treatment, they are to notify the medical practitioner as there are some adjustments that can be made to reduce the discomfort, however, having some pain during the treatment illustrates that shockwaves are having a positive effect.
Will there be any pain after the treatment?
Normally patients experience a reduced level of pain or no pain at all immediately after the treatment, but a mild and diffused pain may occur a few hours later. This dull pain can last for a day or so.
What if there is pain experienced after the treatment?
Shockwave therapy treatment initiates a pro-flammatory response in the tissue that is being treated. If necessary patients may use ordinary prescription-free painkillers. Do not use anti-inflammatory medication or ice in the treated area as both may interfere with the body’s self-healing abilities.
Male infertility is due to low sperm production, abnormal sperm function or blockages that prevent the delivery of sperm. Illnesses, injuries, chronic health problems, lifestyle choices and other factors can play a role in causing male infertility. Not being able to conceive a child can be stressful and frustrating, but a number of male infertility treatments are available.
Up to 15 percent of couples are infertile. This means they aren’t able to conceive a child even though they’ve had frequent, unprotected sexual intercourse for a year or longer. In up to half of these couples, male infertility plays a role.
The main sign of male infertility is the inability to conceive a child. There may be no other obvious signs or symptoms. In some cases, however, an underlying problem such as an inherited disorder, hormonal imbalance, dilated veins around the testicle, or a condition that blocks the passage of sperm causes signs and symptoms.
Although most men with male infertility do not notice symptoms other than inability to conceive a child, signs and symptoms associated with male infertility include:
When to see a doctor?
See a doctor if you have been unable to conceive a child after a year of regular, unprotected intercourse or sooner if you have any of the following:
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs, venereal diseases) are among the most common infectious diseases
in the United States today. STDs are sometimes referred to as sexually transmitted infections, since these
conditions involve the transmission of an infectious organism between sex partners. More than 20 different
STDs have been identified, and about 19 million men and women are infected each year.
Palvic Inflammatory Disease:
PID is a common condition, although it is not clear how many women are affected because it doesn’t always have any obvious symptoms.PID mostly affects sexually active women from the age of 15 to 24.
Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV):
Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is a form of the common sexually transmitted infection chlamydia. It is caused by specific strains of the Chlamydia trachomatis bacteria (strains L1, L2, L2b and L3) and is more invasive (i.e. gets into the tissue of the body) than more common types ofChlamydia, so can have more serious consequences if left untreated.
Chancroid is a bacterial infection that is spread only through sexual contact. Chancroid is caused by a type of bacteria called Haemophilus ducreyi. The infection is found mainly in developing and third world countries. Very few people are diagnosed each year with this infection. Most people in the U.S. who are diagnosed with chancroid have traveled outside the country to areas where the infection is more common.
Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the parasite Trichomonas vaginalis.
Trichomoniasis is found worldwide. In the United States, the highest number of cases are seen in women between age 16 and 35. Trichomonas vaginalis is spread through sexual contact with an infected partner. This include penis-to-vagina intercourse or vulva-to-vulva contact. The parasite cannot survive in the mouth or rectum. The disease can affect both men and women, but the symptoms differ between the two groups. The infection usually does not cause symptoms in men and goes away on its own in a few weeks.
AIDs (Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is a disease caused by a virus called HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). The illness alters the immune system, making people much more vulnerable to infections and diseases. This susceptibility worsens as the disease progresses.HIV is found in the body fluids of an infected person (semen and vaginal fluids, blood and breast milk). The virus is passed from one person to another through blood-to-blood and sexual contact. In addition, infected pregnant women can pass HIV to their babies during pregnancy, delivering the baby during childbirth, and through breast feeding.HIV can be transmitted in many ways, such as vaginal, oral sex, anal sex, blood transfusion, and contaminated hypodermic needles.
Hepatitis B is a virus that spreads through contact with body fluids and blood, so it can be transmitted through sexual intercourse. Infection is also possible through sharing of needles, razors, and toothbrushes. Babies can become infected at birth from an infected mother. Symptoms of hepatitis B infection include nausea, abdominal pain, and jaundice (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes). Over time, scarring of the liver (cirrhosis) and liver cancer can develop. It’s possible to go for years without symptoms of the infection. Although there is no cure, there is a vaccine to prevent hepatitis B infection.
Hepatitis B is irritation and swelling (inflammation) of the liver due to infection with the hepatitis B virus (HBV).
Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted infection (STI). It is caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Genital herpes affects the skin or mucous membranes of the genitals. The virus is spread from one person to another during sexual contact.
There are two kinds of HSV:
Chlamydia is a very common infection transmitted by sexual contact. It can cause infertility if not treated. The symptoms may not be noticed, or they may be vague and nonspecific. Some people have no symptoms at all. When symptoms are present, they can include burning or itching of the genitals, discharge, or painful urination. Chlamydia infections can also develop in the rectum and throat.
Cold sores or “fever blisters” on the lips are a sign of herpes virus infection, usually caused by the type of herpes virus known as human herpes virus 1, or HHV-1. HHV-1 is usually not an STD, and it can be spread through kissing or household contact. It can also spread to the genitals. There is no cure for herpes infection, but medications can reduce the severity and duration of outbreaks.
Syphilis can be cured with antibiotics, but many people don’t notice the early symptoms. It can lead to nerve damage, blindness, paralysis, and even death over time if not treated. The first sign is typically a painless sore on the genitals or anal area. It is usually round and firm. A rash can develop later on the soles of the feet, palms, or other parts of the body. Other symptoms can include enlarged lymph nodes, fever, fatigue, or hair loss. Late-stage syphilis can cause damage to many different organ systems.
Gonorrhea is an easily transmissible STD that affects both men and women. It can cause infertility in men and women when untreated. There may be no early symptoms of the infection. When symptoms develop, they can include burning during urination, vaginal or urethral discharge, and pelvic pain in women. Men may experience swelling of the testes and discharge from the penis. In some cases, the symptoms are mild and the condition is mistaken for a urinary tract infection or yeast infection.
Scabies (pronounced: skay-beez) is a common skin infestation of tiny mites called Sarcoptes scabiei. The mites burrow into the top layer of human skin to lay their eggs, causing small itchy bumps and blisters.Someone with scabies might notice a bumpy red rash. Occasionally, raised wavy lines where the mites have burrowed may appear, especially on the inner part of the wrist or between the fingers or toes.
Pubic lice are tiny insects that infect the pubic hair area and lay eggs. These lice can also be found in armpit hair and eyebrows.
Genital warts are soft growths on the skin and mucus membranes of the genitals. They may be found on the penis, vulva, urethra, vagina, cervix, and around and in the anus.Genital warts are spread through sexual contact.
Low sperm count means that the fluid (semen) you ejaculate during an orgasm contains fewer sperm
than normal.Your sperm count is considered lower than normal if you have fewer than 15 million
sperm per milliliter of semen.
Having a low sperm count decreases the odds that one of your sperm will fertilize your partner’s egg, resulting in pregnancy. Nonetheless, many men who have a low sperm count are still able to father a child.
The Power of Healthy Sperm:
Did you know that if a man can create ample quantities of healthy, energetic sperm it can make all the difference when he is trying to get his partner pregnant?
There is naturally an emphasis on the quality of a woman’s eggs which is obviously important. However, the value of healthy sperm is important too. Healthy sperm means a healthy baby but people don’t often talk about the great start you can give your baby if your sperm is healthy. Your fertility journey is not just about a pregnancy. It’s also about having a full term pregnancy and about the health of your baby to be.
Just by making your sperm healthier, your baby can be healthier, smarter and stronger, and better prepared for life. Just by improving the health of your sperm, your wife is less apt to miscarry.
How May Healthy Sperm Help to Prevent a Miscarriage?
If your sperm is compromised it may encourage miscarriage. This is because if a sperm that is slow or not well formed (often due to poor nutrition) manages to penetrate the egg, the genetics may not be strong enough for the baby to be carried full term. It is best to try to avoid that scenario. A miscarriage is physically and emotionally challenging and your partner would need to take time to recover until you can try again.)

Most men see dramatic changes in three or four months but sometime things are going to change within 5 weeks
Asthenozoospermia refers to motility defects in the sperm. When forward progression of sperm is = 50% (Grade a + b) or rapid progression is = 25% (Grade a), such a sample is called asthenozoospermic. Isolated motility problems with normal count and sperm morphology points more in favor of varicocele. However, infections and hormonal problems and raised reactive oxygen species levels also need to be considered for Asthenozoospermia. If the cause is known then treating the underlying condition helps. While the commonest cause of male infertility is a low sperm count (the technical term for this is oligospermia), some men are infertile because of poor sperm motility.
Causes of Asthenospermia (Low Sperm Motility):
Symptoms of Asthenospermia (Low Sperm Motility): A varicocele may have no symptoms, or it may cause pain that can vary from dull discomfort to a sharp pain. Some patients describe the pain as an ache, or a feeling of heaviness. Sometimes the exaggerated vein can be seen or felt by the patient. Painful varicoceles are usually prominent in size. The pain of a varicocele may augment after sitting or standing when pressure has built up in the exaggerated veins. Physical exertion, specially lifting, may cause pain from varicoceles or even grounds them to form.
Treatment of Asthenospermia:
At Imran’z Medical Center, our Infertility treatment protocol offers a highly specialized treatment for Asthenospermia. There are also a variety of dietary supplements, as well as vitamins and raw materials that are thought to help with a low sperm count. Maintaining a high protein, low-fat diet that is rich in vegetables and whole grain may help, as well. The timing of intercourse may impact a low sperm count, as well. Ejaculating less often, for example, is consideration to help with low sperm count.
Imran’z Medical Center Treatment offers specialty Natural Products medicines for the treatment of Asthenospermia (Low Sperm Motility) helping men like you to father a child at the earliest. Our treatment can help as a stand-alone treatment to improve the sperm count, motility and morphology
Antisperm antibodies are one immune factor which could be involved in infertility. Antisperm antibodies are cells that fight against normal, healthy sperm. If you have anti-sperm antibodies, instead of seeing sperm as natural cells, your immune system fights against your sperm and destroys them. This prevents you from producing any viable sperm. Though still to be proven, there is evidence that antibodies against sperm can result in male infertility.
Antisperm Antibodies Test:
The role of anti-sperm antibodies in causing male infertility is controversial,
since no one is sure how common or how serious this problem is. However, some men
(or their wives) will possess antibodies against the, which immobilize or kill them
and prevent them from swimming up towards the egg. The presence of these antibodies
can be tested in the blood of both partners, in the cervical mucus, and in the seminal
fluid. However, there is little correlation between circulating antibodies (in the blood)
and sperm-bound antibodies (in the semen).
The presence of AB should be suspected in men have a history of Vasovasostomy and vasectomy reversal or other testicular surgery or injuries and when severe Asthenospermia or spontaneous sperm agglutination is observed during routine Semen Examination. Poor sperm penetration in PCT post-coital test with normal cervical mucus cross penetration test will help to find out presence of antibodies in the sperm or cervical mucus.
Immune factor covers 10 to 15 % of male infertility as a causative factor, these include the patients in which all seminal parameters are normal but the PCT Post Coital test are poor and there is defective sperm motility also semen shows high level of sperm agglutination. In a couple with Unexplained Infertility as well as when the man having history of vasectomy reversal must be testing of AB Antisperm Antibodies.
Antisperm Antibody AB test:
It’s very important to find out that whether actual antibodies are present on the sperm itself (over tail, overhead) rather than circulating in blood.
The presence of both IgG and IgA anti-sperm antibodies are measured on the sperm surface. The results are given in terms of the number of motile sperm affected by anti-sperm antibodies surface antibodies may affect both movement of the sperm and the ability of the sperm to bind to the oocyte results are clinically significant and positive if more than 50% of sperm are affected by either class of antibody. IgA antibodies are considered of greater clinical significance than IgG.
How Do Antisperm Antibodies Affect Fertility?
Antisperm antibodies can really impair the function of healthy sperm. These antibodies attach to your sperm, reducing motility and making it more difficult for sperm to pass through cervical mucus. Antisperm antibodies can also force sperm to clump together, making it difficult for your sperm to fertilize an egg.
Testing for Antisperm Antibodies:
There are a variety of tests that can detect the presence of anti-sperm antibodies in the body:
Treating Antisperm Antibodies:
Conventionally there are a variety of treatments available to help couples struggling with anti-sperm antibodies to conceive. At Imran Medical Center, we follow a highly advanced Infertility treatment pool, free of steroids & hormones to offer a natural treatment to Antisperm Antibodies.
Puberty is the time in life when a boy or girl becomes sexually mature. It is a process that usually happens between ages 10 and 14 for girls and ages 12 and 16 for boys. It causes physical changes, and affects boys and girls differently.
Homosexuality is romantic attraction, sexual attraction or sexual behavior between members of the same sexor gender. As a sexual orientation, homosexuality is “an enduring pattern of emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attractions” to people of the same sex. It “also refers to a person’s sense of identity based on those attractions, related behaviors, and membership in a community of others who share those attractions.”In helping people overcome homosexuality, we’ve found that many are in confusion about what homosexuality actually is. There is no agreement among either the scientific community, religious groups or homosexual people themselves as to the definition of homosexuality. We’ve found this to be a good working definition, though a full explanation of the condition of homosexuality goes much deeper.
Born Gay Or Lesbian?
The majority of homosexuals believe they were born “gay or Lesbian.” This belief often supplies them with comfort, relieving them of any responsibility to change. However, there is no solid scientific evidence that people are born homosexual. The overwhelming majority of gay people are completely normal genetically. They are fully male or female. Learned Behavior We believe homosexuality is learned behavior which is influenced by a number of factors:

Primary Hypogonadism, also known as primary testicular failure, originates from an abnormality in the testicles. Hypogonadism may occur if the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis is interrupted at any level. Hypergonadotropic hypogonadism (primary hypogonadism) results if the gonad does not produce the amount of steroid sufficient to suppress secretion of LH and FSH at normal levels.
Risk Factors of Primary testicular failure:
Symptoms of Primary Testicular failure:
Testicular Failure Diagnosis:
Diagnosing testicular failure may involve a variety of male fertility testing procedures. Congenital testicular failure will typically be indicated by the presence of “ambiguous” genitalia at birth.
Fertility tests for the diagnosis of testicular failure may include the following:
Treatment for Testicular Failure:
Various medications are used to treat or reduce the symptoms of Primary Testicular Failure due to Torsion of Both Testis. Natural essential Products may be helpful in Primary Testicular Failure, but we get very few cases of Primary Testicular Failure for treatment. So it’s difficult to state any concrete statistics. May be few years down the line, we can publish concrete conclusions regarding the positive results of treatment for Primary Testicular Failure.
Anal sex has always been a highly controversial subject, and the controversy that surrounds it looks set to continue because evidence is accumulating that this practice may sometimes lead to anal cancer.Indeed, the most anal cancers seem to be linked to infection with HPV’.This is human papilloma virus, which is readily spread from one person to another during sexual contact. The Society also states that ‘having anal sex is a risk factor for anal cancer in both men and women’. The risk is greatest if you have had numerous partners.
What is it?
Anal sex means sexual activity involving the bottom – in particular, the type of intercourse in which the penis goes into the anus. It’s often referred to as ‘rectal sex’.Anal sex is now known to carry considerable health risks, so please read our advice carefully. Our impression is that during the 21st century anal sex has become rather more common in heterosexual couples, partly because they have watched ‘blue movies’ in which this activity so often occurs.Often, it is presented as something that is both routine and painless for women. In real life, this is not the case. Anal intercourse is often very painful, particularly the first few times.
Other types of sexual activity which involve the anus include:
Taboos and infection:
There are taboos surrounding the various types of anal sex – and particularly anal intercourse. These may arouse strong feelings of moral indignation, guilt and anxiety. But research shows that, whether we like it or not, the anal area is equipped with many erotic nerve endings in both men and women. So it’s not surprising that many couples (including a lot of heterosexual ones) derive pleasure from some form of ‘bottom stimulation’. Most sexual activities carry a risk of transmission of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) ranging from gonorrhoea and herpes to hepatitis Band HIV. Anal intercourse carries a high transmission risk.
Is it safe?
Anal sex, if practised with care, is possible for most couples. The main health risks, which affect both heterosexual and homosexual couples are described below.
Night fall or wet dreams is a very common occurrence among men, especially amongadolescents . This condition is characterized by involuntary ejaculation during sleep in the night or in the early hours of the morning. The problem of night fall can be very frustrating for young men because most of the times they don’t understand the reason for it and also because it is a very embarrassing thing to discuss with not only their parents but also with their peers. The frequency of these nocturnal emissions varies from person to person, most men only experience this condition in their adolescent years but few may suffer from it all their lives. So as you can see this condition is very common and nothing really to worry about except in very few cases where it is very frequent spread over a long period of time.
Signs and Symptoms of Nightfall:
Nightfall / Wet Dreams / Swapandosha is one very common faced by males at teenage. Generally patient gets dream and in between dreams erection and ejaculation occurs. But at later stages, ejaculation occurs without any dream. The process continues and patient becomes weaker and weaker. Burning in urine and frequent urination are most common problems faced by individual. This should be controlled in time.
There are many herbal and natural remedies for permanent solution of night emissions. Nightfall is a problem of reproductive system in which semen is discharged during sleep in night. Hence the name is nightfall. But in severe cases the discharge happen even at day time and two to three times in a single night. Nightfall indicates infection in urogenital tract. Over masturbation is one of the most common reasons for night emissions.Repeated nightfall makes person weak and lethargic. Excessive sexual drive – once known as nymphomania – is when sexual desires and urges have a large negative impact on a person’s life, affecting them personally as well as people around them. Both counseling and therapy are helpful for treatment of excessive sexual drive. Most people wouldn’t turn down a chance for sexual pleasure, some people become so overwhelmed by intense obsessions related to sexual activity. When these obsessions begin to have an impact on a person’s life, there is a good chance that excessive sexual drive is a problem. The exact causes are not known, but for some it may be psychological in nature while for others it may be caused by physical problems. Knowing the cause is an important part of treatment for excessive sexual drive.
CAUSES OF EXCESSIVE SEXUAL DRIVE:
As mentioned, an increased sex drive may be caused by a physical factor like a hormonal imbalance. While it may start here for some, there are other emotional factors that may be at work as well. Problems with other compulsive disorders may be another cause of excessive sexual drive. The important thing to remember is that when treatment is sought, the cause should be taken into consideration. Before the exact cause is known, there are many symptoms that might appear as indicators of a problem with this sexual dysfunction.
Symptoms and Dangers of Excessive Sexual Drive:
Most people enjoy sexual activity, but when a person is distressed greatly when not involved with sexual interaction, it may be excessive sexual drive. Obsessive thoughts that center around sex as well as addictions to pornography may be signs of a problem with this sexual disorder. People that have multiple sexual partners without having an emotional attachment to them may also have a problem with excessive sexual drive. If any of the symptoms appear, getting treatment is recommended before the problem leads to other dangers – from physical (sexual diseases) to emotional ones like depression.
Symptoms of Excessive Sexual Drive:

Loss of libido (sex drive):
Loss of libido (sex drive) is a common problem affecting up to one in five men – and even more women at some point in their life. It’s often linked to professional and personal stress, or important life-changing events such as pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding.
However, an unexpected loss of libido especially when it lasts for a long time or keeps returning – can also indicate an underlying personal, medical or lifestyle problem, which can be upsetting to both partners in a relationship. If you’re concerned about your libido, especially if your diminished sex drive distresses you or affects your relationship, make an appointment to see your GP to discuss any underlying causes and possible medical or psychological treatments.
HOW COMMON IS LACK OF LIBIDO IN MEN?
Lack of libido in men is far less common than erectile dysfunction with which it should not be confused. In our practice, we have seen only about one man with low libido for every 25 with erectile dysfunction. Most men with lack of libido can achieve erections, but have lost the desire to have sex.
What are the causes of lack of libido in men? Lack of desire in men can be of either physical or psychological origin.

Painful intercourse can occur for a variety of reasons ranging from structural problems to psychological concerns. Many women experience painful intercourse at some point in their lives. The medical term for painful intercourse is dyspareunia which is defined as persistent or recurrent genital pain that occurs just before, during or after intercourse. Talk to your doctor if you’re experiencing painful intercourse. Treatments focus on the underlying cause, and can help eliminate or reduce this common problem.
If you experience painful intercourse, you may feel:
When to see a doctor?
If you are experiencing painful intercourse, talk to your doctor. Treating the problem can help your sex life, your emotional intimacy and your self-image.
Physical causes of painful intercourse tend to differ, depending on whether the pain occurs at entry or with deep thrusting. Emotional factors can be associated with many types of painful intercourse.
Pain during penetration may be associated with a range of factors, including:
►Insufficient lubrication:This is often the result of not enough foreplay. Insufficient lubrication is also commonly caused by a drop in estrogen levels after menopause, after childbirth or during breast-feeding. In addition, certain medications are known to inhibit desire or arousal, which can decrease lubrication and make sex painful. These include antidepressants, high blood pressure medications, sedatives, antihistamines and certain birth control pills.
►Injury, trauma or irritation: This includes injury or irritation from an accident, pelvic surgery, female circumcision, episiotomy or a congenital abnormality.
►Inflammation, infection or skin disorder: An infection in your genital area or urinary tract can cause painful intercourse. Eczema or other skin problems in your genital area also can be the problem.
►Vaginismus: Involuntary spasms of the muscles of the vaginal wall (vaginismus) can make attempts at penetration very painful.
Deep pain usually occurs with deep penetration and may be more pronounced with certain positions. Causes include:
►Certain illnesses and conditions: The list includes endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine prolapse, retroverted uterus, uterine fibroids, cystitis, irritable bowel syndrome, hemorrhoids and ovarian cysts.
►Surgeries or medical treatments: Scarring from surgeries that involve your pelvic area, including hysterectomy, can sometimes cause painful intercourse. In addition, medical treatments for cancer, such as radiation and chemotherapy, can cause changes that make sex painful.
Emotional factors: Emotions are deeply intertwined with sexual activity and may play a role in any type of sexual pain. Emotional factors include:
►Psychological problems:Anxiety, depression, concerns about your physical appearance, fear of intimacy or relationship problems can contribute to a low level of arousal and a resulting discomfort or pain.
►Stress:Your pelvic floor muscles tend to tighten in response to stress in your life. This can contribute to pain during intercourse.
►History of sexual abuse: Most women with dyspareunia don’t have a history of sexual abuse, but if you have been abused, it may play a role.
Sometimes, it can be difficult to tell whether psychological factors are associated with dyspareunia. Initial pain can lead to fear of recurring pain, making it difficult to relax, which can lead to more pain. As with any pain in your body, you might start avoiding the activities that you associate with the pain.
Preparing for your appointment:
If you have recurrent pain during sex, talking to your doctor is the first step in resolving it. Primary care doctors and gynecologists often ask about sex and intimacy as part of a routine medical visit, and you can take this opportunity to discuss your concerns. Your regular doctor may diagnose and treat the problem or refer you to a specialist who can.
Tests and diagnosis:
A medical evaluation for dyspareunia usually consists of: ►A thorough medical history:Your doctor may ask when your pain began, exactly where it hurts, how it feels, and if it happens with every sexual partner and every sexual position. Your doctor may also inquire about your sexual history, surgical history and previous childbirth experiences. Don’t let embarrassment stop you from giving candid answers. These questions provide clues to the cause of your pain.
►A pelvic examination: During a pelvic exam, your doctor can check for signs of skin irritation, infection or anatomical problems. He or she may also try to identify the location of your pain by applying gentle pressure to the genital area and pelvic muscles. A visual examination of the vaginal passage, using an instrument called a speculum to separate the vaginal walls, may be performed as well. Some women who experience painful intercourse are also uncomfortable during a pelvic exam, no matter how gentle the doctor is. You can ask to stop the exam at any time if it’s too painful.
►Additional tests:If your doctor suspects certain causes of painful intercourse, he or she might also recommend a pelvic ultrasound.
Treatments and drugs:
Treatment options will vary, depending on the underlying cause of the pain.
If an infection or medical condition is contributing to your pain, treating the underlying cause may resolve your problem. Changing medications known to cause lubrication problems also may eliminate your symptoms. For most postmenopausal women, dyspareunia is caused by inadequate lubrication resulting from low estrogen levels. Often, this can be treated with a prescription cream, tablet or flexible ring that releases very small amounts of estrogen directly to your vagina.
Therapy: Different types of therapy also may be helpful, including:
►Desensitization therapy: During this therapy, you learn vaginal relaxation exercises that can decrease pain. Your therapist may recommend pelvic floor exercises (Kegel exercises) or other techniques to decrease pain with intercourse.
►Counseling or sex therapy: If sex has been painful for a long time, you may experience a negative emotional response to sexual stimulation even after treatment. If you and your partner have avoided intimacy because of painful intercourse, you may also need help improving communication with your partner and restoring sexual intimacy. Talking to a counselor or sex therapist can help resolve these issues.
Sex is supposed to be a pleasurable experience, but it’s hard to feel sexy or intimate with your
partner when you have sexual performance anxiety. When you’re constantly wondering, “Am I doing
this right?” “Is my partner enjoying this?” or “Do I look fat?” you become too preoccupied to
enjoy sex.Constant worry over your appearance or ability in bed can make sex stressful and
nerve-wrecking. It can even make you want to avoid having sex.Sex is more than just a physical
response. Arousal is tied into your emotions, too. When your mind is too stressed out to
focus on sex, your body can’t get excited either.
Causes of Sexual Performance Anxiety:
Many different kinds of worries can lead to sexual performance anxiety, including:
These anxieties cause your body to launch a response called “fight or flight.” Stress hormones like epinephrine and norepinephrine are released in a series of reactions that were actually designed to prepare your body to run or confront a threat. Of course, your partner isn’t a threat, which is why this response is so counterproductive to intimacy.
Symptoms of Sexual Performance Anxiety:
Your state of mind can have a big impact on your ability to get aroused. Even if you’re with someone who you find sexually appealing, worrying about whether you’ll be able to please your partner can make it impossible for you to do just that.In men, one of the effects of the stress hormones is to constrict blood vessels. Less blood flowing into the penis makes it more difficult to have an erection. Even men who normally don’t have any trouble getting excited can become unable to get an erection when they’re overcome by sexual performance anxiety.Sexual performance anxiety isn’t diagnosed as often in women as it is in men, but it can affect arousal in women, too. Anxiety can prevent women from getting lubricated enough to have sex, and it can take away the physical desire to make love.
Anxiety can take both men and women out of the mind-set needed to have sex. When you’re focused on whether you’ll perform well, you can’t concentrate on what you’re doing in bed. A distracted lover is an inattentive lover, which can make you feel like even more of a failure. Even if you are able to get aroused, you may be too distracted to reach orgasm.Sexual performance anxiety leads to a perpetual cycle. You become so anxious about sex that you can’t perform, which leads to even more sexual performance anxiety.
Overcoming Sexual Performance Anxiety:
If you’ve got sexual performance anxiety, see a doctor someone with whom you feel comfortable
discussing your sex life. The doctor can examine you and do some tests to make sure a health
condition or medication isn’t causing your sexual performance issues. During the exam the
doctor will ask about your sexual history to find out how long you’ve had sexual performance
anxiety and what kinds of thoughts are interfering with your sex life.Medications and other
therapies can help treat erectile dysfunction and other sexual problems that are due to
physical causes. If a medical issue isn’t to blame, your doctor might suggest trying
one of these approaches:
►Talk to a Therapist: Make an appointment with a counselor or therapist who is experienced in treating sexual problems. Therapy can teach you to become more comfortable with your own sexuality, and it can help you understand — and then reduce or eliminate — the issues that are causing your sexual performance anxiety. Men who are worried about premature ejaculation, for example, can try some techniques that help them gain more control over ejaculation.
►Be open with your partner: Talking with your partner about your anxiety can help ease some of your worries. Trying to reach a solution together might actually bring you closer as a couple and improve your sexual relationship.
►Get intimate in other ways:There are many ways to be intimate without actually having sex. Give your partner a sensual massage or take a warm bath together. Take turns pleasing each other with masturbation so you don’t always have to feel pressured to perform sexually.
►Distract yourself:Try putting on some romantic music or a sexy movie while you make love. Think about something that turns you on. Taking your mind off of your sexual performance can remove the worries that are stopping you from getting excited.
Finally, take it easy on yourself. Don’t beat yourself up about your appearance or ability in bed. Get help for sexual performance anxiety so you can get back to having healthy and enjoyable sex life.
